What Are Options?
An option is a contract that allows (but doesn’t require) an investor to buy or sell an underlying instrument like a security, ETF or even index at a predetermined price over a certain period of time. Buying and selling options is done on the options market, which trades contracts based on securities. Buying an option that allows you to buy shares at a later time is called a “call option,” whereas buying an option that allows you to sell shares at a later time is called a “put option.”
Each option contract will have a specific expiration date by which the holder must exercise their option. The stated price on an option is known as the strike price. Options are typically bought and sold through online or retail brokers.
7 Step Strategy to Grow a Small Account
1. Find a stock you’re familiar with! Then find it’s overall direction on the candlestick timeframe you trade on.
2. Find a contract with at least 30 days expiration left! You’ll thank me later!!!
3. Buy 1 contract to start with! 1 CONTRACT TRUST ME! This will limit your exposure while scaling into your trade.
4. Immediately place a 20% to 30% sell orders.
5. If the trade goes against you, wait TWO FULL days before adding another contract to this trade. This is averaging down.
6. After you bought your second contract, immediately place your sell order for 20% to 30% based on your new average.
7. Repeat the process!
This strategy will help you stay consistent while limiting your exposure to the market.
